I believe it’s essential for every Christian to do so.

In Matthew 4:4, it says that we are not to live by bread alone, but by every word of God. And we can’t just get that spiritual nourishment once a week on Sunday. Just as we need to fuel up our car with gasoline when it gets low, we cannot spiritually run on empty, and expect God to use our lives.

In 2 Timothy 4, we are charged as Christians to “Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” That command is an impossibility if we are not in our word daily and filed with the Holy Spirit. In Isaiah 55:11, God says that His word will never return void. We need to read and meditate on it daily.

Daily Devotional (4/5/2026): Whosoever Believeth

Today, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Frank Ram

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” - John 3:16

“He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” - Matthew 28:6

John 3:16 is probably the most famous Bible verse in the world, and perfectly encapsulates the message of the Gospel. The Good News that Jesus Christ came down to earth, from all eternity, lived amongst us, 100% man 100% God, lived a perfect life, went to the cross for the forgiveness of the world’s sins, rose again on third day, and gives us the gift of eternal life if we put our faith and trust in Him.

Today, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus. Approximately 1,994 years ago, He conquered the grave. He is our only hope. Not in the sense that we have exhausted every other hope, and Jesus is the last resort, but that there is no other hope. In this world or anywhere else.

In John 3, Nicodemus approaches Jesus, I believe of genuine heart, because he could see that Jesus was of God. Jesus doesn’t waste any time and tells him he must be born again. We see in 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Peter 1:3, Titus 3:5, and other various places through the Bible that the Lord is referring to a Spiritual rebirth of the Spirit. When we ask the Lord to forgive our sins and we put our trust in Him, we are born again of the Spirit and we will spend eternity with Him. It is the Good News of the gospel.
